For our Canada entity, based in Montreal we are looking for an Industrial Controller.
Purpose of the Job
Brings to Regional management a regular true and fair view of the site functions activity (monthly / yearly closing, budgets and forecasts, performance monitoring, financial reporting), perform accounting research, and ensuring compliance with local accounting & tax regulations (statutory), Group accounting standards and Internal Control rules & principles.
Supports dedicated department heads for financial matters and performance monitoring of their departments.
Deploys all financial means and all Sector tools & methodologies to ensure that targets are properly followed at site level.
Establishes a close working relationship with dedicated Directors and Heads of departments.
Responsibilities
Support to Business
Supports dedicated directors and Heads of departments for financial matters and performance monitoring
Supports, implements and monitors the function finance objectives
Processes & Core-model
Validate / analyse the Canada HQ managing unit results (production and non-production overheads, U / O) for accounting / management decision purposes
Supports and implements Sector best practices
Tools / ORGA improvement
Applies Sector tools & methodologies
Internal Control
Guardian of the rule for its dedicated department
Taxes
Support tax and accounting department on tax matters related to HQ activities
Strategy
Financial partner in supporting Regional Management / Heads of functions during budget construction
Industrial / OH Controlling
Develops costs optimization culture on site
Put in place action plan culture
Ensure direct activity proper booking
Analyse and challenge U / O
Controlling of all country / regional common costs, ensure its compliance versus budget target and its proper reallocation within the business
Accounting
Active member of process in site (Q C D)
Budget / F-1
Ensure that the departments requirements are integrated in the site Budget and Forecasts
Challenge head of department to meet overhead targets
Closing
Ensures consistency, completeness, liability and relevance of site and functions data, compliant with Alstom Accounting and Reporting Rules
Reporting
Ensures consistency, completeness, liability and relevance of site and functions data
Prepares site and functions Management Review slides with the heads of functions and the Finance Regional management
Educational Requirements
- Business School / University Master degree (specialization in Accounting or Finance) + 3 to 5 years work experience
- Familiar with International Financial Reporting Standards and Generally accepted accounting principles
- Strong Analytical Capacity
- Problem Solving minded
- Team Player
- Proficient in MS Office tools (Xls, ppt, word..). Knowledge of SAP is appreciated
- Fluent French & English
