S&C is continuing to grow. Where do you come in? We are looking for talented Machinist for the Day Shift, who has a passion for innovation and in their field of expertise, enjoys working as part of a team and are committed to helping us become a leader in our industry.
Job Summary
You will be responsible for creating programs, setting up and operating the CNC machines, following work orders to produce parts for our units according to S&C quality standards.
This role also performs other tool room duties.
As a Machinist, you will
- Set up, prove out and produce production parts using CNC machines.
- Ability to read, modify and interpret program coding and commands.
- Monitor machine operation and perform trouble shooting tactics when necessary.
- Ensure parts are manufactured in accordance with quality standards and target plans.
- Inspect, measures & ensure quality control of all manufactured parts within control.
- Maintaining tooling & materials
- Basic machine maintenance & upkeep (TPM program)
- Use manual pump trucks, cranes (over head / jib) and lift devices as required to move material and finished product(s)

Who are we looking for? Someone who has
- Post secondary education or CNC certification.
- Minimum 5-years experience as a CNC Machinist.
- Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints.
- Able to use QA instruments such as micrometer and calipers.
- Excellent mechanical / mathematical aptitude and manual dexterity.
- Good communication skills with the ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment with minimal supervision.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Computer-literate and able to learn new software / programs as needed.
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement manufacturing principles
