Saw Operator

Key Responsibilities

Material Cost -stringent material control is required to assure company targets are met .This includes spend, usage ,scrap inventory levels etc.

Operate Elumetec saw equipment safely and efficiently.

Read and interpret Travelers /BOM / Drawings to determine material dimensions and cutting requirements .

Measure and mark material for cutting with high accuracy using tape measures ,calipers and other tools .

Select appropriate saw blades and machine settings based on material type and desired cut .

Perform routine maintenance and safety checks on saw equipment .

Assist with unloading , storing, and organizing raw material stock as needed .

Collaborate with team members in fabrication , assembly , and finishing departments.

Follow all workplace safety policies and procedures , including the use of PPE.

Reports equipment malfunctions or safety issues to supervisors immediately .

Qualifications & Experience Required

2-5 years of experience in the fabrication or manufacturing environment preferred

Prior experience operating band saws and understanding cutting techniques is a strong asset

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specification .

Strong measurements and math skills ; capable of working in both imperial and metrics units .

Manual dexterity and physical stamina to handle repetitive tasks and stand for long periods .

Commitment to producing high -quality work and meeting production deadlines .

Knowledge of sign industry materials .
