ABOUT THE JOB :

The aim of Global Business Service Unit (GBSU) Canada is to deliver day-to-day services to Société Générale investment and corporate bank units and their clients to accelerate their transformation.

As a Process Engineering & Risk Mitigation analyst (PERM), you will join a team of 2 people based in Montreal, with oversight from USA management.

You will have a unique opportunity to work on a team that helps minimize risks to the firm by investigating and analyzing key root causes for both tactical and strategic action.

The Control Risk Mitigation & Remediation Team seeks to improve our Client Lifecycle and Digital department’s KYC processes by managing a complete feedback loop with all key stakeholders and substantially delivering on any actions originating from the existing control framework.

What will be your DAY-TO-DAY?

  • Identify, remediate, and track errors from monthly testing by CLD Quality Assurance, CLD GPS, Compliance, and Referential Data teams
  • Address assigned errors, perform quality control, ensure SLAs are met, and escalate as needed
  • Report error balances and aging to stakeholders including CLD KYC Senior Management and Compliance
  • Lead working groups to agree on and execute corrective actions
  • Optimize key processes and propose solutions
  • Provide feedback on controls and processes
  • Improve data quality, control reporting, and metrics for global consistency
  • Create and present corrective action plans
  • Assist with audit, regulatory, and internal testing requests

Profile required

Skills and Qualifications :

Must Have :

  • 3-5 years in financial services
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
  • Strong time management, organization, communication, and analytical skills
  • Ability to persuade others to change practices
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
  • Collaborative mindset : maintain positive relationships, share knowledge, communicate professionally, and stay calm under pressure
  • Eagerness to tackle new tasks and improve performance

Nice to Have :

  • Knowledge of client lifecycle and AML / KYC / BSA
  • Proficiency in Excel (VLOOKUP, basic macros)
  • Skills in data manipulation and metrics gathering
  • Familiarity with regulatory changes (Dodd Frank, FATCA, FinCEN) and compliance regulations

Languages : French and English

Ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing, is a requirement as the person in this position will need to collaborate regularly with colleagues and partners in the United States .

Due to US Federal Securities law applying to this position, candidates who will apply for this position will be required to submit to an enhanced background screening, including the collection of their fingerprints by a third-party vendor selected by the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority ( FINRA ).
