We are currently looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Quality Assurance Supervisor . This role will report directly to the Quality Assurance Manager.
Key responsibilities for the position include :
- Overseeing the daily activities of the Quality Analyst, including scheduling, task prioritization and identification of development opportunities.
- Coordination of the Held Stock program including investigating and evaluating root cause, assessing risk, and developing corrective actions for raw material, process and system non-conformances.
- Provide timely evaluation and disposition of held stock.
- Ability to accurately gather, review and trend data for analysis & reporting as it relates to investigations and program performance.
- Management of foreign material control programs, including validation, testing and calibration activities as defined within the program.
- Assist with maintenance of quality systems including written program updates.
- Conduct internal audits of systems and processes to assess compliance and determine where improvements can be made.
- Participate in new product launches to verify process compliance and closely monitor first runs to ensure process capability.
- Act as a representative of the company during government and customer facility, program and record review audits.
- Assist QA Manager with assessment, investigation and response to consumer and customer concerns.
- Conduct employee training when necessary and participating in verification activities within the facility.
- Identify improvement opportunities and initiate team problem resolution and continuous improvement with focus on the development of robust processes and systems that deliver quality goods right the first time.
Qualifications
- Degree / Diploma in a food related science program or equivalent work experience
- 1-3 years’ experience in food quality or related field
- Knowledge of HACCP, GFSI, SQF, Safe Food for Canadians Act and Food Safety Modernization Act considered an asset.
- PCQI certified considered an asset.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment.
