1-800-GOT-JUNK? Is looking for an experienced UX Designer to join our Digital Experience team, where you’ll work across multiple products and projects to drive exceptional, user-centered web experiences.
In this role, you’ll lead front-end UX and UI design for our digital properties with a special focus on our website, working collaboratively to shape the design vision, make data-informed decisions, and advocate for best practices in UX design processes.
Starting January 2025, all team members in Vancouver and Toronto will be required to work in-office every other week, for three consecutive days (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday).
To support business priorities, core hours of attendance will be mandatory from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on these days.
A DAY IN THE LIFE
- Work closely with the Digital Experience, Brand, and Web Operations teams to define and implement innovative design solutions for our web product’s direction, visuals, and experience.
- Lead front-end UI layout and visual design for all web properties, ensuring consistency and alignment with brand standards.
Create wireframes, storyboards, user flows, process flows, and sitemaps to communicate interaction and design ideas effectively.
- Support website content strategy for on-page content and web projects in partnership with marketing, brand, and development teams.
- Regularly conduct UX discovery activities with minimal supervision, utilizing established processes and templates.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to implement the end-to-end design process, bridging the gap between technical and non-technical audiences to ensure alignment on usability, efficiency, and simplicity.
- Conduct user research and usability testing, translating insights into actionable recommendations for the development team.
- Regularly review industry trends and incorporate insights to elevate user experience.
- Execute design tasks including user personas, journey mapping, wireframing, prototyping (high and low fidelity), and developing comprehensive layouts.
- Work within agile development teams to provide necessary design information, helping to deliver polished, professional solutions.
WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE
- Degree or Diploma in Design, Interactive Media, Graphic Design, Computer Engineering, or similar.
- 3 + years of experience as a UX / UI Designer engaging in human-centred design projects - you love finding creative ways to solve design problems.
- Demonstrated work portfolio showcasing your design experience, approach, and project outcomes.
- Proficiency in working with Adobe XD, Figma, Invision or similar UX design tools and Usertesting.com or similar user testing tools
- Experience creating and presenting wireframes, mock-ups, and comprehensive designs.
- You bring an unwavering energy for design best practices and champion it throughout the organization.
- Strong understanding of end-to-end UX / UI / Design Processes including research, ideation, and testing and iteration.
- Experience facilitating and articulating designs, and able to formulate and conduct user research.
- Experience helping establish UX / UI functions and implementing best practices.
- Exceptional presentation and communication skills.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
- Salary $67,000 - $90,000 per annum (Actual salary offered will be commensurate with education, experience and internal parity).
