Intermediate Structural Engineer

We are looking for an experienced engineer to design and support heavy industrial structures in the power generation sector.
Responsibilities
- Multitask and perform design for large or small projects.
- Commit to and maintain a project timeline, completing tasks within allocated time frames.
- Document and track project tasks and design documents, demonstrating strong organizational skills.
- Liaise with other discipline leads, project managers, vendors, contractors and clients to facilitate smooth flow of information for preliminary and detailed design and provide design clarifications and solutions during construction.
- Maintain strong computer‑oriented skills (AutoCAD, MathCad, MS Office, Numerical Methods Solutions, etc.).
- Use STAAD Pro for structural analysis.
- Hands‑on expertise in the design of heavy industrial structures (steel, concrete, wood, masonry), preferably in the power generation industry; consulting engineering experience is desirable.
- Knowledge of power plant Station Structures and Components (SSCs) is an asset.
- Prepare and / or verify procurement activities and deliverables.
- Review technical content of supplier / vendor bids and technical submissions.
- Perform inspections as required for procurement of material.
- Maintain strong communication skills.
Qualifications
University degree in Structural Engineering or related discipline.Seven (7) years of related engineering experience (preferred).Registered or eligible to register with the PEO as a P.Eng.Previous exposure to stations, structures, and components of Nuclear Power Plants (preferred).Strong computer‑oriented skills (AutoCAD, MathCad, MS Office, Numerical Methods Solutions, etc.).Experience in the utility or power industry (asset).Hands‑on expertise in structural design for concrete and steel structures using STAAD Pro.Must be able to obtain a security clearance.Additional Information
Minimum age 18 years and legally entitled to work in Canada. Valid work permit may be required.
Background checks, including criminal, identity, educational, and security, are required. Enhanced criminal record checks may be required and must be conducted from time to time after commencement of employment.
