About this role

We are recruiting for a Security and Healthcare Technology Specialist to join our Subject Matter Expert team in the Security and Healthcare Technology division.

This team is based in Burnaby. Here's how your role will strengthen our team.

Your responsibilities

  • Work remotely and on customer sites for the installation, design, assembly, servicing, troubleshooting and maintenance of various electronic systems, including but not limited to : Nurse Call, RTLS, Audio, Video, Paging, Intercom, Security / Access Control, Telecommunication and Video Surveillance
  • Act as a subject matter expert resource for PMs to assist with technical difficulties or issues.
  • Inspect potential project sites and provide accurate estimation of required equipment and time
  • Maintain and complete accurate as-builts and all system documentation for projects.
  • Train end users on operations of provided systems.
  • Develop and implement solutions to resolve interfacing or intercommunication problems between disparate systems.
  • Commission and configure hardware and software for deployment / installation.
  • Create and provide internal technical training resources and sessions for Houle team members.

Your experience and skills

  • Training in security / healthcare system and products, including access control, CCTV, and intrusion detection or related field
  • Certification in at least one of the following platforms : Genetec, Kantech, Lenel, Milestone, Ascom Telligence, GuardRFID, or Sonitor
  • Minimum 1-3 years working in a similar role, with technical expertise in related systems. Electronics background also an asset.
  • Experience with integration and middleware engines in the security / healthcare product space an asset
  • Familiarity with SNMP, BACNET IP, MODBUS, and other platform agnostic messaging protocols an asset
  • Knowledge of various programming and computer languages including C#, python and T-SQL an asset
  • Knowledge of web-based technologies, protocols, and languages / mechanisms including API, REST, SOAP, HTTP / HTTPS, ISS, Web servers, JSON, XML SQL is an asset
  • Knowledge of various networking protocols and technologies
  • Being able to work in various government institutions, as well as willing to travel and work in other regions for short periods of time

Salary range : $60,000 - 90,000 per year plus a competitive total compensation package . Actual salary will be commensurate with experience, skills and overall match to the position offered.

Ideally, we are looking for an Technical Specialist with a minimum 1-3 years experience working on Security and Healthcare Technologies in large P3 builds.

However, we will consider those with various levels of experience and skillsets, this may result in a salary offer outside of the posted range.
