Job description
Job Title: Pricing Unit Lead
Location: Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada (5 Days onsite)
Primary Skill: GIS AMS, ESRI ArcGIS, FME, QGIS, Utility Geospatial data, system integrations, data pipelines
Responsibilities:
- Lead end-to-end GIS project delivery including spatial data management, geodatabase design, and enterprise GIS architecture across utility (Electricity)
- Oversee ETL-based data migration and integration workflows using FME Desktop and FME Server, ensuring schema mapping, projection transformation, and data standardization.
- Design, implement and manage the enterprise GIS solutions using ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Enterprise, and ArcGIS Desktop, with integration into enterprise platforms such as IBM Maximo and mobile GIS applications.
- Lead geospatial data quality assurance and QA/QC frameworks including topology rules, spatial validation, and attribute integrity checks to maintain high data accuracy and consistency.
- Manage and mentor GIS team members, providing technical direction on spatial analysis, cartographic production, satellite imagery interpretation, and source evaluation tasks.
- Drive geodatabase administration and maintenance on PostgreSQL/Esri SDE environments, supporting both online and offline data capture and synchronization workflows.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and developers to build, test, and enhance GIS tools, models, and workbenches using Python, GDAL, Model Builder, and FME.
- Support geospatial data modernization initiatives by defining data quality rules, governance standards, and automation pipelines using cloud platforms such as Azure Data Factory and Azure Databricks.
- Engage with clients and stakeholders to assess requirements, provide product consulting, resolve GIS platform issues, and deliver implementation and quality assurance for new GIS datasets.
- Ensure project compliance with GIS best practices and spatial data standards across industry verticals including Electric, Gas, Telecom Utilities, Oil & Gas, and Navigation.
