Position Overview

An established plastics manufacturer in the Woodbridge area is seeking an experienced Process Technician to support its injection molding operation. This hands on role focuses on machine start ups, process optimization, troubleshooting, quality improvement and maintaining consistent, repeatable molding processes.

What You Will Be Doing

• Perform injection molding machine start ups according to the production schedule.
• Verify water circuits and confirm machines are ready before completing the start up process.
• Ensure molding processes are running within established process parameters.
• Follow and document process parameters to support consistent and repeatable production results.
• Troubleshoot injection molding processes and make adjustments to improve part quality and production efficiency.
• Adjust molding parameters to achieve quality parts while optimizing cycle times.
• Investigate unacceptable reject levels and correct process related issues.
• Respond to machine alarms and production issues in a timely manner.
• Work with other departments to identify and correct root causes of quality concerns.
• Maintain clean and organized machines and work areas before production begins.
• Communicate production issues, concerns and important process information to the shift supervisor.
• Identify opportunities to improve process efficiency and repeatability.
• Assist with training process technician trainees as required.

What We Are Looking For

• Minimum 3 years of experience processing injection molding machines in a manufacturing environment.
• Post secondary education or equivalent experience.
• Strong understanding of injection molding machine functions and the fundamentals of the injection molding process.
• Hands on injection molding troubleshooting experience.
• Knowledge of plastic raw materials and their processing characteristics.
• Ability to read and understand production work orders.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English.
• Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision in a fast paced manufacturing environment.
• Ability to prioritize work and complete time sensitive tasks.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly.
• Must have own tools.
• Forklift certification and overhead crane certification.
