Product - Senior Director/Director, Technical Development - Tailoring

THE ROLE

As the Senior Director / Director, Technical Development, you will lead the team to:

• Work with the appropriate Business Support partners to seamlessly lead the day-to-day function of the department in support of corporate objectives, while enabling progressive career development and an incredible employee experience
• Determine the approach for developing styles at Aritzia
• Define world-class standards to guide our development and specifications, delivering consistency and precision across our assortment
• Enable the seamless translation of the creative intent into an actionable blueprint, leveraging our library of fit blocks and patterns
• Ensure clear and comprehensive instructions, aligned to our standards, that enable accurate sample development
• Manage the execution of sample requests
• Validate that digital and physical samples align with our specifications and creative vision
• Effectively manage and optimize the day-to-day operations of technical development

THE QUALIFICATIONS

The Senior Director / Director, Technical Development has:

• Proven and best-in-class skills, applicable certifications, education and/or experience in:Knowledge of 2D patternmaking and translation into physical garmentsSample measurement, construction, and execution evaluation Live model and dressform garment fitting assessment and correctionsGarment fit and construction communication using sketches, imagery, and technical languagePLM system and patternmaking software experience
• A commitment to learn, apply, champion and enrich Aritzia's Values and Business and People Leadership principles
• The skills to collaborate strategically with cross-functional partners in the pursuit of shared business outcomes
• The ability to set clear objectives and design a strategy that inspires the team
