Description

The Employment Resources Supervisor is responsible for developing and expanding employment opportunities for individuals supported by Reena. This role advocates for community inclusion through employment by building relationships with stakeholders, supporting employment readiness, supervising assigned staff, and developing program frameworks and policies.
The Employment Resources Supervisor leads the creation of new programs and collaborations, develops inclusive employment policies, and actively pursues funding opportunities to support the growth of this service area.

Schedule- Monday to Friday; 9AM - 5PM

Key Responsibilities

Primary Responsibilities

  • Establish partnerships with businesses, agencies, institutions and community organizations to promote employment inclusion.
  • Advocate within the community for the inclusion of individuals from an employment perspective.
  • Create and present innovative proposals for regular and experimental employment models.
  • Coordinate and monitor employment opportunities for individuals, ensuring ongoing support and success.
  • Collaborate with families, staff, and external partners to support employment readiness and development.
  • Design employment training curriculum and job coach training.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures for employment services.
  • Work collaboratively with both internal and external resources to overcome employment-related barriers.
  • Attend designated meetings, including joint supervisor and team meetings.
  • Encourage individuals and staff to assess strengths, identify goals, and create development strategies.
  • Facilitate the onboarding process, monitor job placements, and address challenges as needed.
  • Represent Reena on employment-related committees and community partnership initiatives

Administrative Responsibilities

  • Foster the growth and development of staff through coaching and support.
  • Identify training or development needs and establish new programs or materials to meet them.
  • Interview and select staff in collaboration with Human Resources.
  • Provide orientation to new staff and ensure ongoing compliance with mandatory training requirements.
  • Schedule and submit staff payroll in accordance with organizational policies.
  • Communicate issues, updates, and serious occurrences to the Program Manager through appropriate channels.
  • Ensure compliance with all health and safety program requirements; report injuries to the appropriate department or ministry.
  • Monitor staff performance against clear standards and expectations; provide timely feedback and cultivate a high-performance work culture.

Financial Responsibilities/Budget

  • Research and write grant proposals.
  • Seek funding opportunities and partnerships.

Special Requirements

  • Extensive experience supporting employment programs, including job development, job coaching, and facilitating job readiness workshops using a person-centred approach.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and presentation skills, with proven success supervising teams and building internal and external partnerships.
  • Expertise supporting neurodivergent individuals and people with developmental disabilities, dual diagnosis, and complex needs from diverse backgrounds.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office, CMS, AI and virtual platforms, with a strong commitment to confidentiality and experience in grant writing and program development.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

Qualifications

  • Three-year college diploma in Business, Marketing, or related field.
  • Minimum 2 years in job development, coaching, or related role; prior exposure to developmental or social services preferred. Solid understanding and/or willingness to learn about developmental disabilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with payroll systems and intranet tools.

Reena is a non-profit organization that promotes dignity, individuality, independence, personal growth and community inclusion for people with diverse abilities within a framework of Jewish culture and values.

Reena was established in 1973 by parents of children with developmental disabilities as a practical alternative to institutions. In 1977, Reena began receiving funding from the Ontario Ministry of Community and Social Services and since that time has grown to provide support for hundreds of individuals with developmental disabilities and their families. Reena offers a variety of services including: residential support, respite programs, counselling, therapy and advocacy.
