Job description

Are you a detail-oriented builder who loves working with your hands? We are seeking a skilled Electromechanical Assembler to join a dynamic, forward-thinking manufacturing team. In this role, you will be crucial in building cutting-edge robotic platforms. If you have a passion for assembly, mechanical troubleshooting, or even a hands-on hobby like working on cars, we want to hear from you!

Shift type: 2nd shift

Performs a wide variety of electronic or electro-mechanical assembly operations on assemblies or sub-assemblies. Determines and/or follows methods and sequence of operations in performing wiring, component installation, hand soldering and cable harnessing on assembly units. Makes setups and adjustments holding tolerances to blueprint specifications.

Responsibilities
Read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings, blueprints in addition to other required support documents, i.e., point-to-point, wiring diagrams, schematics, electrical codes, pick lists and bills of material, Cambridge Specific Procedures and Documented Work Instructions etc.
Troubleshoot unusual assembly or wiring problems.
Accurately report task and times in Factory Talk Production Centre (FTPC) related to work orders and Critical to Quality (CTQ’s).
Participate in LEAN/Six Sigma Training and contribute to and make recommendations for process improvements and LEAN activities.
Assist, instruct and provide training to new employees.
Participates in activities to increase job knowledge, including required training and certifications, job rotation programs and training and coaching of other employees.
Participate in Behavioural Based Safety Training and contribute to the program.
Performs work in accordance with job-specific training procedures, follows work aids (DWIs, prints etc.,) and produces work that consistently meets quality standards.
Assemble and fit prefabricated parts to form subassemblies, working at benches or directly on the cabinets.
Assemble, fit, and install prefabricated parts and subassemblies such as isolators, contactors, capacitor banks, control panels etc.
Install electrical and electronic equipment and instruments such as terminal blocks, relays, circuit breakers, PLC devices, switches, fans, heater circuits, etc. according to technical manuals and written instructions.
Install, replace or rework electrical wiring, receptacles, switches, conduits, feeders, fiber-optic and coaxial cable assemblies, and other electrical components.
Wire electrical components inside the medium voltage drive and Starters in accordance with approved electrical drawings and other schematics.
Checking wiring for loose faulty connections.
Check for continuity of electrical and electronic equipment and components.
Verify parts and verify continuity of wiring using multimeter, for Medium Voltage Drives and Starters.
Install the switchgear, transformers, contactors, switchboard meters, regulators, capacitors, rectifiers, earthing switches and reactors for MV drives and starters.
Install Power supplies, and other electrical components.
Operate necessary hand and power tools for electrical wiring and assembly.
Notify application engineers of any issues in the Electrical drawings.
Flexibility and adaptability to assume other roles and support other job families as required.
Ensure tasks are conducted in accordance with applicable employment, environmental, health, safety, quality, and legislation and or regulations (federal, provincial, ISO 14001, ISO 9001, etc.), as well as Rockwell Automation policies and procedures, 5S requirements and standards of business conduct.
Creates an optimal work environment by establishing and maintaining positive and respectful work relationships.
All other duties as required and assigned by supervision.

Qualifications
Level 3: 2 Years Related Experience, High School Education/GED.
PREREQUISITE:

Internal wiring course.
Able to perform the duties and responsibilities of a Prototype Assembler Level 1P and 2P.

Typically requires a minimum of 2 years of related experience. Has substantial understanding of the job and applies knowledge and skills to complete a wide range of tasks.

Mechanical aptitude.
Problem solving.
Reading and understanding written instructions, i.e., CSPs and DWIs.
Utilizing a computer to view, log, and/or find appropriate job-related information, i.e., SAP, FTPC.
Self-directed in a team environment.
Safe use of manual tools, power tools and machinery.
Demonstrated skill and proficiency (productivity, quality and safety) in all areas of MVB.
