The successful candidate will be responsible for providing strategic and operational leadership in the development and delivery of library services and programs across the organization's branches. This role is pivotal in championing exceptional and consistent customer experiences, advancing a community-led service philosophy, and ensuring that services remain responsive to the diverse needs of the community. The Executive Director will also be involved in capital projects, leading system-wide teams, and fostering a strong organizational culture that prioritizes excellent customer and employee experiences. Candidates for the Executive Director position must have a Master of Library and Information Studies from an ALA-accredited institution, with a minimum of 10 years' professional library experience, including significant leadership and management within a library environment. The role requires a commitment to intellectual freedom and diversity and inclusion, as well as experience in managing large and complex budgets. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in strategic leadership, people management, and the ability to foster a culture of engagement and continuous learning. Experience in a unionized environment, capital projects, and representing an organization in external initiatives is also essential. The Executive Director will be expected to work closely with the CEO and other executive members, contributing to the organization's strategic goals and business plan priorities.
