All About The Role

Contract, Event-Based

What will you do this year?
In your role as the Event Duty Manager, your primary accountabilities will be to:

  • Assist the Event Manager in the execution of a wide range of PNE events including but not limited to concerts, outdoor festivals, sporting events, community events, film shoots and tradeshows
  • Actively manage positive relationships with production managers, tradeshow producers, concert promoters and other PNE stakeholders
  • Ensure all operational plans are followed on event days.
  • Act as the venue representative on event days by managing client requests and troubleshooting operational issues
  • Liaise and collaborate directly with Partners, clients, internal staff and enabling areas on event design and delivery.
  • Ensure adherence to venue policies and procedures with respect to health and safety, alcohol management, customer service, and labour management
  • Provide detailed information on event related issues (event reporting) and conduct post-event debrief sessions and analysis if needed
  • Play a key role in ensuring a highly motivated and knowledgeable team of staff demonstrate a positive and can-do attitude, and lead by example
  • Work together with other members of staff in the event of an emergency.
  • Through effective direction, leadership and supervision, the Duty Manager supports the Event Manager in the execution of year-round events, and ensures all aspects of these events meet or exceed the standards and policies of the PNE through excellent guest and client service
  • Assist in updating, keeping track of all procedural manuals on a regular basis
  • Perform other related duties as required.

What else?

  • Must have 1-3 years of experience in the events industry.
  • Diploma, Certificate or degree in Event Management, Business Administration or a relevant discipline or an equivalent combination of education & experience is considered an asset.
  • Must be able to work an event-based work schedule which includes weekends, late nights, extended hours, and extended workweeks.
  • Experience working in a similar venue is considered an asset.
  • Experience with production and technical personnel is considered an asset.
  • Experience with Film industry is considered an asset.
  • Must possess good decision-making and communication skills with the ability to react well to high-pressure situations and tight timelines.
  • Always conduct oneself in a courteous and professional manner
  • Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required by event schedules.
  • Successful candidates must undergo a Criminal Record Check

The PNE's compensation offerings are in alignment with a pay-for-performance pay philosophy that recognizes individual, and teamwork performance. The role is a contract, event-based position with a typical salary range of $30 - $32 per hour. The starting salary will be based on the successful candidates competencies, including but not limited to knowledge, skills, experience, and internal pay structures. As a part of the PNE's total compensation package, this position may be eligible for other benefits subject to program eligibility requirements.
