About this opportunity:

Reporting to the Manager, Incident Management and Data Analytics, the Incident Management and Data Analytics Advisor will assist in enhancing our Health & Safety incident management and investigation practices. This role involves supporting the implementation of Cenovus’s incident management processes in line with Cenovus’s Operational Integrity Management System (COIMS). The successful candidate will collaborate within the team and other business units to support incident management activities, help build investigation capacity to learn from incidents, and prevent future occurrences.

What you’ll do:

  • Support the enhancement, implementation, and continuous improvement of incident management processes, tools, and supporting resources to strengthen organizational learning and safety performance.
  • Provide support for workplace and operational incident investigations, including process guidance, coordination, information gathering and analysis, documentation, corrective actions, and follow-up activities.
  • Analyze incident management and safety performance data to identify trends, emerging risks, improvement opportunities, and insights that support informed decision-making.
  • Contribute to enterprise incident management initiatives, including communities of practice, stakeholder engagement, assurance activities, quality reviews, and cross-functional programs that build organizational capability.
  • Support strategic initiatives, projects, reports, presentations, and communications that advance Incident Management and Health & Safety priorities and translate findings into meaningful insights for leaders and stakeholders.
  • Identify and support process improvements that strengthen controls, improve investigation quality, and help prevent recurrence of incidents.

Who you are:

Our ideal candidate will have the following minimum requirements:

  • Legally authorized to work in Canada.
  • Degree or Diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution; Occupational Health and Safety Certificate and/or additional designations like CRST, CRSP, CSP highly valued.
  • A minimum of 5 years of Health and Safety experience, ideally experience gained within the oil and gas or heavy industrial sector.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships across all levels of an organization.
  • Proven ability to work independently, take initiative, and manage priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • A positive, collaborative approach and the ability to work effectively with diverse teams.
