Position Type: Full Time salaried @ 40 hours/week
Salary Range: Minimum salary of $35,000- 38,000 annually
Position Overview: Reporting to the Director of Fitness Centre, this position is responsible for supervision of activities and services occurring in the Fitness Centre and Group Fitness as required. This position will be for both the Downtown and North End facilities.
Duties
Understand, promote, and participate in YMCA philanthropic activities and events.
Provide fitness centre supervision and act as a host
Lead fitness programs, consultations, orientations, and personal training services
Lead and facilitate group fitness activities, sports, and recreation programs as needed
Problem solve, keep statistics, and conduct facility checks
Conduct regular checks of cleaning and maintaining of equipment
Help promote programs and activities
Other duties as required
Skills & Qualifications
A criminal record check and vulnerable sector check are required as a condition of employment.
Standard First Aid and Basic Rescuer CPR
Personal Trainer certification from YMCA (or equivalent).
Kinesiology or Health and Fitness related degree or diploma
Group Fitness Instructor certification from YMCA (or equivalent)
Experience in a supervisory role and leading a team
Must have basic computer skills
Bilingualism (French and English) an asset.
The posted salary range reflects a variety of experience levels and qualifications that may be considered for this position. Placement within the range will be based on the successful candidate's knowledge, skills, experience, and overall qualification
