The Bayview Group is seeking a results driven Used Truck Sales Manager to lead and expand their used truck sales operations of Bayview Kenworth Trucks and Equipment Ltd.
Reporting on all aspects of the used truck business, this role is responsible for inventory acquisition, valuation, reconditioning, pricing, marketing, customer relationship management, and sales performance.
The successful candidate will drive inventory turnover, profitability, market share and customer satisfaction while leading a high performing sales team.
The successful candidate will have overall responsibility for the Used Truck Sales Division across Bayview's dealership network.
While the preferred location for this role is
Moncton, New Brunswick, consideration will also be given to candidates where there is a Bayview branch, including
Saint John, Fredericton, Woodstock, or Bathurst, NB, and New Glasgow or Dartmouth, NS.
Key Responsibilities
Sales Leadership & Revenue Growth
- Develop and implement strategic plans to achieve used truck sales objectives and profitability targets.
- Lead, coach, mentor, and motivate sales personnel to exceed individual and departmental goals.
- Monitor sales performance metrics and implement corrective actions as required.
- Establish and maintain relationships with key customers, fleets, owner-operators, and industry partners.
- Identify new business opportunities and market segments to expand sales volume.
Inventory Management
- Manage used truck inventory levels to ensure optimal stock availability and turnover.
- Evaluate and purchase trade-ins and used truck inventory through various acquisition channels, including auctions, customer trade-ins, lease returns, and wholesale markets.
- Determine vehicle valuations and establish competitive pricing strategies.
- Coordinate reconditioning activities to ensure inventory is market-ready and presented professionally.
- Monitor aging inventory and implement strategies to maximize return on investment.
Customer Experience
- Deliver a customer-focused sales process that promotes long-term relationships and repeat business.
- Resolve customer concerns and issues in a timely and professional manner.
- Ensure all sales transactions are conducted ethically and in accordance with company policies.
- Promote Bayview's commitment to exceptional customer service and professionalism.
Financial Performance
- Develop and manage departmental budgets.
- Monitor gross profit, margins, expenses, inventory carrying costs, and overall financial performance.
- Prepare and analyze monthly sales reports, forecasts, and market trends.
- Recommend pricing strategies to maximize profitability while remaining competitive.
Marketing & Business Development
- Collaborate with marketing teams to promote used truck inventory through digital platforms, social media, industry publications, and events.
- Ensure inventory listings are accurate, complete, and professionally presented.
- Build relationships with lenders, leasing companies, suppliers, and industry contacts to enhance business opportunities.
- Represent Bayview Trucks & Equipment Ltd.
at trade shows, customer events, and networking activities.
Compliance & Administration
- Ensure compliance with all company policies, safety regulations, and applicable provincial and federal legislation.
- Maintain accurate sales documentation, inventory records, and reporting requirements.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and best practices within the sales department.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Post secondary education in Business Administration, Sales, Marketing, or a related discipline is considered an asset.
- Minimum 5 years of progressive sales experience, preferably within the heavy truck, equipment, transportation, or automotive industries.
- Minimum 3 years of leadership or sales management experience.
- Demonstrated experience in inventory management, pricing, and profit optimization.
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong understanding of the heavy-duty truck market and transportation industry.
- Proven ability to develop and execute successful sales strategies.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- Strong financial and analytical capabilities.
- Proficiency with CRM systems, inventory management software, and Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to interpret market data and make informed business decisions.
