About the Role

We’re seeking a Senior Engineer to shape the tooling and infrastructure that power the next generation of scalable AI / ML products at Remitly. In this role, you’ll collaborate with AI / ML, data science, and infrastructure teams to design systems that enable seamless AI / ML experimentation, training, deployment, serving, and evaluation. Your work will accelerate how quickly AI / ML ideas turn into customer impact—at a global scale. You’ll report to the ML Platform Engineering Manager and play a critical role in defining and building the foundation for Remitly’s future AI‑driven products.

You Will

• Design and build backend services in Go on AWS to support high‑scale AI / ML workloads.
• Develop and enhance core AI / ML platform offerings—including Feature Store, ML Orchestration, and Model Deployment & Serving—with a focus on performance, reliability, and usability.
• Partner closely with data scientists, ML engineers, and software engineers across multiple domains to deliver end‑to‑end solutions.
• Drive infrastructure optimization and automation, improving system scalability, reliability, and developer velocity.
• Collaborate with product managers and cross‑functional teams to align engineering initiatives with product and business goals.

You Have

• 8+ years of experience developing production applications, ideally in Go or Java.
• 2+ years of experience working on platform and / or infrastructure teams.
• Experience deploying and maintaining containerized applications and supporting systems that utilize containerization.
• Strong cross‑team collaboration skills, with experience working directly with product and stakeholder partners.
• Experience building and operating core ML infrastructure (e.g., model serving, ML orchestration, feature stores, research environments).
• Experience with modern CI/CD tools and practices (e.g., GitHub Actions, Jenkins).

Compensation Details

The starting base salary range for this position is $152,000 - $190,000. In Canada, Remitly employees are shareholders in our company and equity is part of our total compensation plan.
