INSPECTOR LEVEL B (nuclear industry) (hourly rate of pay $47.15)

We have opportunities for you to join our production team as an Inspector Level B (nuclear industry) at our facility in Cambridge, Ontario. Each member of our team plays a critical role in BWXT Canada’s success and in ensuring we meet our customers’ quality, cost and delivery expectations. Primary Function:

To perform all tasks of a NDE Inspector Level B and to conduct non-destructive examinations.

Tasks:

  • Perform NDE based on certifications in all areas of the Shop.
  • Read and interpret documentation, including drawings and operating procedures.
  • Create inspection reports, maintain and file documentation.
  • Demonstrate good workmanship and practices.
  • Communicate effectively with internal team members (i.e. peers, production leadership, Project Management, Engineering) as well as customer representatives.
  • Work in a safe manner, complying with all health, safety and environmental guidelines/regulations.
  • Understand and adhere to quality requirements and productivity expectations.

Qualifications:

  • Proven commitment to workplace safety.
  • Must possess either MT CGSB-2 OR PT CGSB-2 PLUS 2 of the following 6:
    • CEDO
    • UT CGSB-1
    • RT CGSB-1
    • 2 years as a Fabrication/Machining inspector within BWXT Canada Ltd.;
    • 5 years as Fabrication/Machine inspector with documented evidence from an external company or 5 years Fitting/Welding experience within BWXT Canada Ltd.;
    • Certified Weld Inspector (AWS-CWI or CWB2).
  • Previous experience in a heavy manufacturing environment or in nuclear power-related industry.
  • Commitment to quality and the ability to work as a positive, effective team member, willing to go the extra mile to ensure we meet our customer expectations.
  • Proficient with computer software.
  • Must be available to work any of the following shifts:
    • Days: 6:00 am to 4:00 pm. (Mon – Thurs)
    • Nights: 4:00 p.m. – 2:00 a.m. (Mon – Thurs)

Weekends (Fri, Sat, Sun – 33 hrs paid 40 hrs)

    • Days: 6:00 am to 5:00 pm.
    • Nights: 5:00 p.m. – 4:00 a.m.
