Location: Remote (MUST be within Canada) with some opportunity for travel

The Society for Canadian Women in Science and Technology (SCWIST) is a national non-profit organisation working to create an environment where girls, women, and gender-diverse individuals in Canada can pursue their interests, education, and careers in STEM without barriers. Our mission is grounded in values of empowerment, inclusion, inspiration, connection, and sustainability. We provide mentorship, leadership development, and outreach programs that encourage participation and excellence in STEM. Through advocacy and partnerships, we work to remove systemic barriers, build inclusive networks, and support long-term career advancement in STEM fields.





Position Overview


SCWIST is seeking a part-time Program Liaison Lead who will be responsible for leading the program committee, working closely with the project team, partners, and national stakeholders. The Program Liaison Lead will ensure the initiative advances inclusive STEM education through sustainable systems change and high-level cross-sector collaboration.





Key Responsibilities



  • Lead and facilitate the program committee and work with the project team to set program committee strategic priorities and timelines.

  • Provide high-level oversight of program committee implementation, accessibility standards, and impact measurement.

  • Develop feedback and review process to ensure that the program committee is guiding decision-making related to alternate format reading material standards and accessibility best practices.

  • Collaborate with the project team to contribute to partnerships with government agencies, academic institutions, and national STEM stakeholders.

  • As needed and at the direction of SCWIST leadership, may represent EARP at national and international forums related to accessibility and STEM inclusion.

  • Advise the project team on policy engagement, knowledge mobilisation, and thought leadership initiatives.

  • Contribute to stakeholder impact reporting as needed.





Experience and Skills



  • PhD in a STEM discipline is considered an asset.

  • Demonstrated leadership in accessibility advocacy, disability inclusion, and equity in STEM.

  • Proven experience in forming, leading and coordinating committees, advisory boards, or governance bodies.

  • Strong understanding of accessible education practices and systemic barriers in STEM.

  • Exceptional strategic leadership and communication skills.

  • Experience in policy dialogue, public speaking, or academic publishing.

  • Proficiency in managing high-level stakeholder relationships across multiple sectors.


Other Details



  • Location: Canada (Remote) with some opportunity for travel.

  • Compensation: $48-$52 per hour

  • Schedule: Part-time

  • Eligibility: Must be eligible to work in Canada.
