As we continue to expand, we are seeking an experienced Senior Construction Estimator to play a key role in pricing projects, supporting business development efforts, and helping position the company for continued growth.
The Opportunity
The Senior Construction Estimator will lead the preparation of accurate and competitive project estimates for commercial, institutional, and construction projects. This individual will work closely with ownership, operations, project managers, subcontractors, and suppliers to evaluate opportunities, identify project risks, and support successful project execution from pre-construction through handoff.

Key Responsibilities
Estimating & Pre-Construction
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for commercial and institutional construction projects
- Analyze drawings, specifications, scopes of work, and tender documents
- Perform quantity take-offs and pricing analysis
- Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations
- Identify project risks, scope gaps, and value engineering opportunities
- Develop conceptual budgets and preliminary pricing as required
Tendering & Bid Management
- Lead bid preparation, coordination, and submission processes
- Ensure estimates are completed accurately and within required timelines
- Participate in bid review meetings with leadership and operations teams
- Maintain organized estimating files and documentation
- Assist with contract review and project handoff to operations teams
Relationship Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with subcontractors, consultants, suppliers, and clients
- Support business development and pre-construction discussions with prospective clients
- Stay informed on market conditions, pricing trends, and industry developments
Collaboration & Leadership
- Work closely with project managers and site teams to support project success
- Mentor junior estimators or support staff as the team grows
- Contribute ideas to improve estimating systems, processes, and efficiencies
Qualifications
Experience & Education
- 7+ years of estimating experience within the construction industry
- Experience estimating commercial, institutional, industrial, or multi-residential projects
- Post-secondary education in Construction Management, Engineering, Architectural Technology, or related field considered an asset
- Gold Seal Certification or equivalent considered an asset
Technical Skills
- Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and project delivery models
- Ability to interpret construction drawings and specifications
- Experience with estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong mathematical, analytical, and organizational skills
