S2425-06 Educational Assistants - Vera M Welsh Elementary School

We are seeking multiple full time (1.0 fte) positions to commence with the start of the 2024-2025 school year. These assignments involve assisting with student educational program needs including social skills, behaviour skills, self-help and personal care needs.

These positions requires a compassionate and energetic individual to work in a team environment.

Vera M. Welsh Elementary School is located in the Town of Lac La Biche with approximately 245 students in grades K-3. We are dedicated to educate and care for our school community and to encourage life-long learning.

Preference will be given to applicants who have :

Post-Secondary training and / or experience as an Educational Assistant

Knowledge and experience with behavioral strategies

Experience working one-on-one and / or in group settings

Knowledge of documentation procedures and proficiency with computers

Knowledge and experience in alternate communication strategies

Experience assisting students with self-help and personal care needs

Familiarity with strategies to address different learning styles and experience with Individual Program Plans

Training and skills that would be an asset include :

Relative experience in educational assistance, nursing and / or rehabilitation

SIVA and / or Non-Violent Crisis Intervention training
