The Assistant Servers focus will be to act asa support in all areas of Guest service delivery. In principletheir function will be threefold : to prepare serving stations andwork areas for each meal period assisting with the smooth executionof meal service during peak times and offering continued support inpreparation for the next meal period.
The Assistant Server will bean integral part of the Library Bar team working towards the commongoal of exceeding the expectations of all that come to dine at theLibrary Bar.
- To promote and maintain apositive working relationship at all times
- Toreport for duty punctually in full uniform according to appearanceand grooming standards
- To have a fullunderstanding of the food and drink offerings in the outletincluding dietary restrictions and be proficient in answering anyguests questions.
- To demonstrate a completeunderstanding of Library Bar policies procedures and set servicestandards as outlined in the Royal York ColleagueHandbook
- To demonstrate a complete knowledgeand understanding of all steps of service and duties and performthem to the set standards as outlined in the Job TaskChecklist
- To assist all Guests (internal andexternal) with any inquiries or requests in a pleasant helpfulmanner
- Attend preshift weekly and monthlymeetings to continually improve the Guestsexperience
- Carrying out any miscellaneousduties and responsibilities as requested by your Manager pertainingto total quality service delivered in the LibraryBar.
- To understand how to operate all theequipment used in the outlet
- To fullyunderstand and follow the hotels recycling program andprocedures
- Adhere to ALL Safe Standardsensuring all hygiene and prevention measures are beingmet
- Adhere to alcohol handling procedures andpolicies
- Adhere to all LQA standards set forthe department
- Will work weekendsholidays and shift work as scheduled
- Any othertasks asassigned
Qualifications :
- Previous workexperience in a restaurant / food and beveragesetting
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ateam player attitude
- OTEC certificate anasset
- Flexibility with shifts of the outletdependent on business demands
- Willingness tolearn new concepts and ideas
- Smart ServeTraining Certification
- Experience working inUnionEnvironment
