Your role

• Perform structural analysis, seismic qualification and assessment, structural design, and ageing management.
• Prepare engineering design calculations for structural systems involving steel, reinforced concrete, and masonry and compile engineering packages.
• Analyze structural systems and elements using analysis software (ANSYS, SAP2000, STAAD Pro, SSASI, and others).
• Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and regulations, and ensure adequacy of design for permits.
• Accountable for delivery of all engineering deliverables to achieve project objectives within specified timelines and budgets.
• Provide technical instructions to junior staff or designers to develop engineering documentation.
• Review and comment on work performed by others to ensure accuracy, completeness, and quality of technical information and design documentation.
• Participate in formal engineering design and other reviews as required for design changes.
• Perform plant walkdowns as needed in support of design requirements definition and detailed engineering of design modifications.

About You

• Civil Engineering degree from an accredited university with minimum 10 years of structural analysis and design experience in steel and concrete structures in nuclear power plants and/or industrial buildings. Master’s degree and above is an asset.
• Licensed in a professional engineering organization recognized in Canada, preferably registered as a Professional Engineer in the Province of Ontario.
• 3 to 5 years of site or field experience in nuclear power plants and/or industrial buildings is an asset.
• Experience with static, dynamic, and seismic analysis of structures and foundations.
• Deep and thorough understanding of structural engineering through design office and site experience.
• Thorough knowledge of Canadian and international codes and standards used in civil/structural engineering.
• Knowledge of analysis software commonly used (StaadPro, SAP2000, ETABS, SAFE, etc.).
• Knowledge of modification processes of nuclear power plants; ECC process or similar is an asset.
• Good time‑management and organizational skills.
• Effective interpersonal skills and ability to work in a multidisciplinary team environment.
• Ability to manage under tight schedules and budgets.
• Eligible for Security Clearance through Public Works and Government Services Canada (PWGSC).
• Travel to client sites is required.
