Our EDO (Engineering Design Organization) is looking for a dynamic and motivated individual to take on the role of IntermediateStructural Engineer in our Calgary / Vancouver office.
Reporting to the EDO Structural Team Leader and as a member of the EDO team, the successful candidate will contribute to and be responsible for all structural engineering aspects of multi-discipline projects in various markets and businesses.

Working with an energetic and high performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in :
- Providing support to Lead Structural Engineers for major projects
- Working independently for small and medium projects under minimum guidance
- Developing design documents including technical drawings, specifications, and contract documents
- Steel, concrete, and masonry structural design for conventional buildings, pre-engineered buildings, industrial buildings
- Liquid holding concrete structures, retaining structures
- Miscellaneous steel, concrete, masonry and wood structures
- Foundation design, piles, footings, raft
- Provide structural calculations and sketches
- Stamp and issue structural engineering deliverables
- Preparation and delivery of project presentations
- Technical report development including inspections and assessments, asset management, health and safety, environmental assessments, and design reports
- Site inspection and assessment activities of various client infrastructure
- Support during tendering and construction including responding to RFIs, reviewing shop drawings, and site visits
- Delegation and mentorship of junior staff
What you will bring to the team :
- or . in structural engineering
- Registered as Professional Engineer ( APEGA or EGBC
- 5-10 years progressive engineering experience, minimum 5 years consultant experience inclusive
- Strong understanding of steel, concrete, masonry, and wood structures
- Strong knowledge of structural design codes and standards, . NBC, CAS S16, CSA A23
- Strong technical report writing and communication skills
- Proficiency with computer programs including, Etabs, Safe, Ram, Sap2000, Excel, AutoCAD and MS office
- Experience and interest in infrastructure with a focus on structures and structural facilities
- Ability to work independently and in a multi-disciplinary team environment
- Municipal and water project experience is an asset
- Self-motivated quick learner with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills, and positive attitude
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Ability to take ownership and accountability for completed work
