Junior / Intermediate Structural Design Engineer
Are you an energetic and positive engineer looking to thrive in a fast-paced and challenging technical environment? Our client, a well-established engineering firm, is seeking a Junior / Intermediate Structural Design Engineer to join their growing team.
This role offers the opportunity to work on a variety of exciting projects, including commercial developments, high-rise towers, and industrial buildings , while developing your skills and advancing your career in structural design.
Key Qualifications and Skills :
- Education : ASc. or B.Eng. in Civil Engineering with a focus on Structural Engineering
- Professional Registration : Registered as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) or EIT with Engineers and Geoscientists BC (EGBC)
- Experience :
- Structural design experience in concrete and wood structures
- Previous experience working on commercial projects, high-rise towers, and industrial buildings is highly valued
- Skills :
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting drawing plans
- Knowledge of the BC Building Code
- Familiarity with engineering and design software tools
Duties and Responsibilities :
- Design and Planning : Create plans, designs, and perform computer analysis, checking drawing reviews and calculations based on engineering principles and in accordance with relevant codes and standards.
- Project Analysis : Analyse reports, drawings, and construction documents to plan and design projects, particularly in commercial, high-rise, and industrial sectors .
- Software Usage : Utilize computer-assisted engineering and design software to prepare engineering and design documents, as well as perform calculations.
- Field Work : Conduct field reviews and structural observations as part of project execution.
- Review Process : Review shop drawings, contractor requests, and RFI’s (Requests for Information) to ensure project accuracy and compliance.
