Job description

We are currently hiring a Sr Mechanical Design Engineer with a strong background in Electromechanical Product Design to join our team in Greater Vancouver, BC, Canada.

Role : Contract, Hybrid

Responsibilities :

  • Involved in a product design from concept to mass production within a global R&D team.
  • Develop and refine mechanical designs using PTC Creo / PDM / Ansys.
  • Innovate to meet market requirements, with a focus on cost, ease of installation, and design aesthetics.
  • Apply engineering skills for robust structural, thermal, and material performance, ensuring manufacturability.
  • Guide product design vision, analyze test / simulation outcomes, and resolve issues.
  • Influence project strategy with insightful scheduling.

Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electro-Mechanical Engineering with 8+ years of product design experience.
  • Proven expertise in CAD for designing outdoor electrical enclosures and hardware.
  • Experience in designing with sheet metal, weldments, injection-molded plastics, die-casts, busbars, and harnessing for prototype and high-volume production.
  • Strong design for excellence (DFX) mindset and proficiency in engineering design methodologies.
  • Extensive knowledge of designing in compliance with regulatory standards (UL / IEC / NEC).
  • Familiarity with BOM, DFMEA, FTA, and DVT processes preferred.
