Job description
Adecco is currently hiring a full-time skilled and detail-oriented Electronics Repair Technician to join our client's team in Whitby, ON. This role involves diagnosing, testing, and repairing electronic equipment while ensuring quality standards and timely turnaround of repairs. This role requires you to be technically proficient, organized, and able to work in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Pay Rate: $ 21.00/hour
  • Location: Whitby, ON
  • Shift: Monday to Friday | 8:0am - 4:30pm
  • Job type: Temporary | Full-time

Responsibilities:
  • Perform work assignments as directed by Supervisors, with tasks allocated based on individual technical skill sets
  • Conduct visual inspections of units, verifying repair tags against work orders and identifying damaged or missing components
  • Perform diagnostic pre-testing to determine root causes of failure and implement required engineering changes
  • Update internal systems to place units on hold when parts are unavailable, including documenting complete part information (part number, manufacturer, description), and properly tagging items
  • Test repaired units for functionality, quality, and BIOS/firmware updates, ensuring all standards are met before release
  • Evaluate items for Non-Economic Repair (NER) status when applicable; identify units with irreparable physical damage or unavailable parts
  • Communicate and coordinate with Customer Support regarding NER determinations and critical repair statuses
  • Ensure all completed repairs are routed to the Refurbishing department at least twice daily
  • Prioritize and track rush or critical repairs (e.g., "yellow tag" items) and provide timely status updates
  • Maintain accurate records by updating the database with all required repair and testing information
  • Keep a clean, organized, and safe work environment
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Previous experience in testing, troubleshooting, and repairing electronic equipment
  • Post-secondary education in Electronics Technician (or equivalent related field)
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow technical procedures accurately
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check
  • Good organizational and time-management skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Experience working with repair tracking systems or databases
  • Knowledge of BIOS updates, diagnostics tools, or component-level repair
  • Experience in a high-volume or production repair environment
  • Mu st be legally eligible to work, and reside in Canada
