- The successful candidate will have a positive impact on our corporate culture by demonstrating the Town’s CARE core values (Collaborative, Accountable, Respectful, Engaged) through daily interactions with individuals at all levels of the organization, external contacts and elected officials.By effectively building positive rapport and relationships both internally and externally, the successful candidate will help us achieve our mission that together we deliver services that make a difference in our community.Reporting to, and under the direction of the Manager of Waste Services, the Waste Services Coordinator will assist in the development and implementation of the waste management programs and activities, policies and procedures; track key performance indicators for waste collection operations, and will occasionally oversee waste collection staff in the absence of the Working Foreperson.Responsibilities include :
- Assist with developing and establishing best practices;
- monitor performance measures;
- research new technologies and equipment;
- develop advertising, promotional and educational programs;
- administer online and mobile waste collection schedules;
- assist with administration of division’s two-way communion tools and updating GIS mapping needs;
- monitor public input and feedback on waste management programs;
- contract administration for apartment and facilities waste collection;
- develop program cost analysis and projections;
- track waste management program expenditures;
- prepare request for proposals, request for quotations, tenders, and other waste management contractual relationships;
- prepare written documentation that informs Departmental and Council / Committee reports, and other internal and external correspondence;
- liaise with other Departments and outside agencies to coordinate internal and external waste management initiatives;
- assist with administering contracted landfill monitoring program,
- coordinate corporate hazardous waste management system for municipal facilities;
- fill in for Working Foreperson as occasionally needed and,
- other duties as may be assigned.#

- What You Bring To Our Team
- As the successful applicant, you must possess :
- a minimum of a three (3) year post-secondary diploma in accounting, business, engineering, environmental science, or waste management;
- possess a minimum of two (2) years directly related experience;
- a willingness to obtain the Certified Manager certification with specialization in Municipal Solid Waste Management Systems from the Solid Waste Association of North America (SWANA)
- demonstrated understanding of municipal government and related regulations and legislation
- understanding of residential curbside waste collection and waste diversion programs
- intermediate level knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel) web-based communication
- Basic knowledge of GIS mapping applications would be an asset
- valid, unrestricted class “G” license, with access to a personal vehicle#

- Current shift schedule : Monday to Friday, 7 : 00 a.m. – 3 : 30 p.m., forty (40) hours per week. Hours of work may be subject to change, shifts may be scheduled between the hours of 7 : 00 a.m. and 7 : 00 p.m., Monday to Saturday.
