The Wood Buffalo Addiction and Mental Health Services Team in stunning Fort McMurray requires a Mental Health Therapist to join the dedicated team child & youth service.
This role will report to the Manager, and day to day support will be provided by a Clinical Supervisor. Your superior communication skills will be used daily as you provide psychosocial intervention utilizing a variety of treatment modalities (individual, family, group) to persons experiencing significant mental health difficulties.
This role will require a person who is energetic, dynamic, and believes in providing the best patient and family centred care in a community context.

This allowance is non-pensionable and is payable on an hourly basis for all hours paid at the basic rate of pay.
Description :
As the Mental Health Therapist, you will be required to use a variety of treatment modalities (individual, family, and group) to persons experiencing significant mental health difficulties.
Working both independently and as a member of a collaborative multidisciplinary team, you will provide evidence informed and best practices in crisis intervention, assessment, consultation, referral, case management and treatment.
Required Qualifications :
- Master's degree in Psychology; or master's degree in Social Work (clinical specialization) including education in mental health assessment and psychotherapy;
- or master's or bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy including training and experience in mental health assessment and provision of psychotherapy;
or master's degree in Nursing or Psychiatric Nursing including training and experience in mental health assessment and provision of psychotherapy.
Active or eligible for registration with the applicable Alberta regulatory college.
Additional Required Qualifications :
This position has been identified and is anticipated to transition to Recovery Alberta effective September 1, 2024. By applying on this posting, if you are the successful candidate, you will transition to Recovery Alberta.
