What we are looking for :

In this exciting role, as a member of the interprofessional team, you will work closely with the Physician to provide care to lower acuity emergency patients. In this position, you will utilize your strong clinical, patient teaching and communication skills in this fast-paced environment where our focus is on patient / family centered care and customer satisfaction.

What you bring to the role :

  • Current Certificate of Registration with the College of Nurses
  • Current BCLS
  • Recent RPN experience in an Emergency Department required
  • Completion of an accredited college Coronary Care 1 program or proof of demonstrated current enrollment or equivalent required, or willing to obtain within 6 months of hire
  • Previous experience in a fracture / plastic clinic is an asset
  • Previous experience in patient education, suture removal, dressing changes and assisting with minor procedures; Td immunizations is an asset
  • Medication Certificate
  • RPNAO membership is preferred
  • Excellent physical assessment skills
  • Proficient computer skills
  • Demonstrated commitment to a patient / family centred care environment
  • Demonstrated excellent critical thinking and problem solving skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively within an interprofessional team
  • Well developed organization, communication, interpersonal and teaching skills
  • Evidence of ongoing professional development, continuing education and leadership experience
  • Demonstrated good attendance and performance records with the ability to maintain these same standards
  • Demonstrated commitment to a healthy and safe workplace for self and others (staff, patients, families, etc.) by taking all reasonable precautions and working in compliance with hospital related policies, health and safety legislation and best practices and completing relevant mandatory education as required
  • Work Schedule :

    The successful candidate must be available to work 8 and 12 hour shifts. The main shift for this role is 0730-1930, 0930-2130, 1230-0030, 1930-0730 Days, evenings, nights shifts and rotating weekends.

    Please note schedule may change due to operational needs.

    Compensation :

    Salary Grid CU10 : $34.70-$35.97 per hour
