Part Time Instructor. School of Nursing

The invites applications for a part time teaching position to be offered in the 2024-25 academic year.

One of three professional schools within McMaster’s Faculty of Health Sciences, the School of Nursing (SON) offers undergraduate and graduate nursing education programs. The SON has a 20-year history of BScN collaboration with Mohawk and Conestoga Colleges. McMaster has three BScN streams (Basic 4 year, Accelerated, RPN-BScN) and Masters, PhD, and Nurse Practitioner programs. Our faculty is exceptional and renowned for excellence in innovative, evidence-based professional education.

JOB AND ADDITIONAL DUTIES :

The applicant will be responsible for teaching in undergraduate BScN programs at McMaster, Mohawk, or Conestoga. We are seeking instructors for the following courses :

Human Biochemistry

Instructor teaching responsibilities will include delivery of course content, overseeing the administrative components of the course, (e.g., grading and completing student evaluation measures, holding office hours, and managing student accommodations).

Compensation

The Teaching Stipend per course (per term) ranges between $5500 – $10,200, depending on the course. The weekly hours of work will be determined and discussed during the recruitment process and are course specific.

Required Qualifications

  • Master’s degree required (Nursing, Health Science, Science, Biochemistry, or a related field). PhD preferred.
  • The successful candidate will have previous experience teaching at the university level.
  • The ability to teach a diverse group of students
  • Strong communication skills
  • Experience in scholarship including curriculum development and evaluation and research is an asset.
  • Experience as a tutor in a Problem-Based Curriculum is an asset.
