Senior Bridge Engineer

Join to apply for the Senior Bridge Engineer role at GHD . The role is based in Canada and can be located in Mississauga, Toronto, Markham, or Whitby. The Bridge Group within GHD Canada works with provincial, regional, and local municipal agencies, as well as select contracting partners, on large-scale transportation projects across highways, roads, and bridges. GHD provides full-service bridge engineering from project planning, conceptual design, lifecycle cost analysis, load evaluation, inspections, fatigue, preliminary design, detailed design, construction administration / inspection, and asset management support.

Responsibilities

• Engineering Solutions Design : participate in and complete multi-disciplined transportation structure projects, rail bridges and structures, and complex design. Produce conceptual design, detailed design, technical specifications, and estimates of cost and schedule.
• Engineering Standards Specification : work within various procurement models and roles.
• Collaboration : participate in small and large teams; lead integration with other engineering disciplines to produce high-quality project deliverables.
• Knowledge Management : develop policies and processes, create best practices, share knowledge through internal sessions on project outcomes and innovative practices.
• Technical Developments Recommendation : prepare reports and contract documents for review by agencies, clients, and the public.
• Professional Supervision : provide technical leadership and mentorship to intermediate and junior staff.
• Collaboration (structure design for transit infrastructure) : work with Business Group Leaders, Project Managers, and Project Directors; coordinate with other disciplines to meet deadlines and budget; maintain contact with sub-consultants, municipalities, utility companies, and clients.
• Feasibility Studies : conduct complex feasibility studies and document findings for cost-benefit analysis of changes to business processes, products, or structures.
• Project Management : assist with project planning, development, and monitoring of schedules and budgets.
• Client & Customer Management : maintain contact with sub-consultants, municipalities, utility companies, and clients.
• Needs Assessment : identify emerging issues, key stakeholders, and potential barriers.
• Improvement / Innovation : identify and implement improvements while delivering projects or work streams within the organization’s change management program.
