At Fairmont Hotel Vancouver, Fairmont Gold is our signature “hotel-within-a-hotel” experience. Featuring 51 beautifully appointed guest rooms and our Fourteenth Floor Heritage Suite Collection, Fairmont Gold offers personalized service, private check-in, an exclusive lounge with daily food & beverage offerings, and elevated amenities designed to make every stay feel special.

What’s in It for You

  • Full-time seasonal position from September 2026 to February 2027
  • Competitive wage of $34.01 per hour
  • An inclusive, empowering, and positive workplace where people are at the heart of everything we do
  • The opportunity to work alongside passionate hospitality professionals committed to creating memorable guest experiences
  • Complimentary meals during shifts through our Colleague Dining Program
  • Complimentary laundering of eligible uniform items
  • Learning and development opportunities to continue building your Fairmont career
  • Opportunities to participate in our sustainability, community, and Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives
  • The opportunity to work in an iconic luxury heritage hotel with a legacy dating back to 1939

What You’ll Be Doing

As a Fairmont Gold Supervisor, you’ll lead by example and support the team in creating a seamless and highly personalized experience for our Fairmont Gold guests. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Lead and support the daily operation of the Fairmont Gold floor and lounge, ensuring consistent luxury service, presentation, and operational standards
  • Provide warm, professional, engaging, and personalized service throughout the guest journey, from arrival through departure
  • Support, coach, and guide Fairmont Gold colleagues during the shift, coordinating priorities and helping the team deliver a seamless experience
  • Review daily arrivals, departures, guest profiles, preferences, and special requests to anticipate needs and personalize each stay
  • Welcome Fairmont Gold guests and support private check-in and check-out, concierge services, and other guest-service functions
  • Build genuine relationships with guests, recognize preferences, and look for thoughtful opportunities to make their stay memorable
  • Respond to guest concerns promptly and professionally, taking ownership and working with the appropriate teams to achieve effective resolution
  • Oversee daily Fairmont Gold Lounge food & beverage service, ensuring offerings are presented, replenished, and maintained to established luxury and food safety standards
  • Monitor lounge service periods and adjust priorities and colleague deployment according to guest volume and operational needs
  • Work closely with Culinary and Food & Beverage teams to coordinate daily offerings, service requirements, dietary restrictions, allergies, special requests, and replenishment
  • Ensure the lounge, buffet presentations, service areas, china, glassware, equipment, and guest spaces remain clean, organized, properly stocked, and beautifully presented throughout service
  • Ensure food safety, sanitation, responsible liquor service, and workplace safety requirements are consistently followed
  • Maintain strong knowledge of Fairmont Gold food and beverage offerings and confidently respond to guest questions regarding ingredients, preparation, dietary requirements, and beverage selections
  • Develop strong knowledge of Vancouver restaurants, attractions, events, transportation, and activities to provide personalized recommendations and concierge assistance
  • Work closely with Front Office, Housekeeping, Culinary, Food & Beverage, Concierge, and other hotel departments to ensure seamless communication and follow-through on guest needs
  • Identify appropriate opportunities to enhance the guest experience, encourage loyalty, and support hotel revenue through room and experience recommendations
  • Assist with shift briefings, colleague assignments, operational follow-up, and communication of important guest and hotel information
  • Maintain accurate guest information and departmental records using Opera PMS and other hotel systems
  • Maintain professional appearance, grooming, hygiene, and uniform standards and lead by example in accordance with hotel expectations
  • Follow departmental procedures, hotel policies, Fairmont brand standards, and all applicable health and safety requirements
  • Participate in required briefings, meetings, training, audits, and service excellence initiatives
  • Perform other duties reasonably assigned to support Fairmont Gold and hotel operations

Qualifications

What You Bring to the Role

We’re looking for someone who understands that Fairmont Gold is about more than excellent guest service. You should be equally comfortable engaging with a guest, supporting your team, and overseeing a busy food & beverage lounge service.

  • Previous supervisory or leadership experience in Food & Beverage, Front Office, Guest Services, or luxury hospitality preferred
  • Strong knowledge of food & beverage service standards, food safety, sanitation, dietary restrictions, allergens, and responsible alcohol service
  • Valid Serving It Right certification required
  • Previous Front Office, Fairmont Gold, Concierge, or Guest Relations experience considered a strong asset
  • Experience with Opera PMS or a similar Property Management System preferred
  • Strong luxury service orientation with a genuine ability to anticipate guest needs and personalize experiences
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a polished, professional presence
  • Strong interpersonal, problem-solving, and service-recovery skills
  • Confidence leading by example, providing direction, and supporting colleagues during busy service periods
  • Strong knowledge of Vancouver and the surrounding area, including restaurants, attractions, events, transportation, and activities
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities while remaining calm and professional
  • Reliable, accountable, and comfortable working both independently and collaboratively
  • Strong computer skills and the ability to confidently learn and navigate hotel systems
  • Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on operational requirements

Physical & Operational Requirements

  • Standing and walking for extended periods throughout the shift
  • Frequent movement throughout Fairmont Gold and other areas of the hotel
  • Frequent bending, reaching, carrying, and repetitive movement associated with lounge and guest service
  • Occasional kneeling, pushing, and pulling
  • Ability to safely lift and carry up to 20 lbs. (9 kg)
  • Ability to safely handle trays, food and beverage service items, china, and glassware
  • Ability to work effectively in a busy guest-facing and food & beverage environment with changing service demands

If you’re passionate about luxury hospitality and food & beverage, enjoy leading and supporting a team, and take pride in creating personalized experiences where every detail matters, we invite you to join our Fairmont Gold team at the Castle in the City.
