Job description

Position Summary

BCIT’s School of Health Sciences is seeking a temporary, part-time (0.2 FTE) Faculty in the Diagnostic Medical Sonography program to work Wednesdays and Fridays. Duties & Responsibilities The successful candidate will have a passion for teaching and assume responsibility in the general stream of the program. This position includes instruction, student evaluation and ongoing course development. The candidate will work closely with existing staff members in coordinating the general sonography labs with the associated theory courses and clinical. Some travel in BC may be required if assigned site visits.

Qualifications QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Graduation with a minimum Diploma of Technology in Diagnostic Medical Sonography.
  • Current relevant sonography experience in general ultrasound scanning (minimum 3 years).
  • Previous clinical teaching experience desirable.
  • Actively credentialed in General sonography with Sonography Canada and/or OB/GYN and Abdominal with ARDMS.
  • Proficiency with Windows operating system and Microsoft Office products.
  • Demonstrated ability in organization, time management, initiative, problem solving, communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as a member of a team, as well as independently.
  • Valid BC driver’s license and vehicle.
