Worley is seeking a Construction Manager to join the Construction Management team at our project site near Jansen, Saskatchewan.
Work Conditions :
- Located on a project site near Jansen, Saskatchewan
- 9 days on 5 days off rotation
- 12 hour days

The Construction Manager is the prime interface between the project team and the client, and between the project team and sub-contractors and as such, will be frequently called upon to assist in resolving contractual, operations, and work progress issues by interfacing with the appropriate Client and / or sub-contractor’s resources.
Responsibilities :
- Overall management direction for project planning, scheduling, equipment, material and human resources and budget tracking for all segments of construction projects
- Takes an active role with hiring and developing field superintendents and foreman while monitoring performance and is involved with the selection, development and training of junior field supervisory staff
- Makes management decisions, around construction methods, schedule, quality and safety
- Responsible for investigating and correcting labour relations issues that impact construction projects
- Directly supervises multiple superintendents and oversees the performance of the various trades in the construction crews
- Assists with the preparation of estimates and implementation of project execution plans; attends pre-tender meetings when required
- Maintains ongoing communication with owner representatives, project managers, and subcontractors and construction crew
- Addresses job cost and performance of construction projects in conjunction with the project manager, superintendent and foremen
- Responsible for ensuring project administration and reporting (labour, material, equipment, subcontractor) adheres to requirements and policies established by the Company
- Leads the planning of initial project site mobilization and directs others for project closeout
- Assists project managers with resolution of outstanding claim items and with warranty follow-up
- Participates in discussions involving client liaison requirements and marketing (including project pre-qualification input, new project information, client feedback,
- Implement detailed day to day plans for crew activities in accordance with the project schedule
- Liaison with Project Manager to adequately address challenges to the work face, schedule concerns or job performance factors
Qualifications :
- 5+ years of experience as an Industrial Construction Manager
- Journeyman trades certification is an asset
- Superintendent experience of 5 7 years required
- Ability to work effectively with a wide range of personality types
- Knowledge of conflict management strategies
- In depth understanding of construction mathematics
- Knowledge of the principles of preparing estimates
- Ability to interpret complex blueprints and clearly explain them to experienced and non-experienced persons
- Desire to teach and mentor others and to share knowledge and experience
- Demonstrates high standards and accountability
- Ability to foresee risk and management of change
- Creates a climate of encouragement, creativity, and learning
- Demonstrates excellent communication and interpersonal skills
