Intermediate Business Analyst

We are seeking an analytical, detail-oriented Intermediate Business Analyst to drive the elicitation, analysis, and implementation of business requirements within enterprise platforms. In this role, you will act as a critical translator between organizational business processes and technical delivery teams, specializing in the alignment of Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) and IT service portfolios. By leveraging a structured analytical approach, you will map existing workflows, define operational compliance metrics, design dashboards, and coordinate quality verification tracks to ensure delivered technology solutions strictly meet business, security, and audit control needs.

Location: Toronto, ON (Hybrid – 3 days per week in office)

Duration: 12-month contract (with possibility of a 6-month extension)

Responsibilities
Requirements Elicitation & Engineering: Gather and document comprehensive business requirements, use cases, and functional specifications, translating complex stakeholder needs into concise user stories with clear acceptance criteria.

ServiceNow Module Translation: Analyze business workflows to design and configure requirements specifically targeting GRC, Integrated Risk Management (IRM), CMDB, Application Portfolio Management (APM), or Technology Portfolio Management (TPM) environments.

Process Modeling & Gap Analysis: Design detailed workflow process maps, perform structural gap analyses, and model business processes to identify operational efficiency opportunities.

Data & Performance Analytics: Map and validate business data streams, defining key performance indicators (KPIs), scorecards, and compliance metrics to develop real-time reporting dashboards and Performance Analytics views.

Governance & Audit Architecture Alignment: Document and review workflows to verify alignment with strict organizational compliance, attestation protocols, data privacy mandates, and audit security controls.

User Acceptance Testing (UAT) Support: Construct end-to-end test scenarios, facilitate UAT execution, manage requirements traceability matrices, and analyze software defects to ensure complete verification of technical deliverables.

System & Integration Analysis: Evaluate application dependencies, map integration data schemas, and compile functional interface requirements across interconnected platform components.

Stakeholder Management: Plan and conduct collaborative requirement-gathering workshops and joint design sessions, facilitating effective communication among multi-disciplinary business, risk, and IT stakeholders.



Qualifications
Business Analysis Seniority: 4+ years of dedicated professional experience serving as an IT Business Analyst, eliciting requirements and managing technical specifications.

ServiceNow Framework Expertise: Proven experience gathering requirements, mapping process schemas, and defining user stories for ServiceNow GRC, IRM, CMDB, APM, or TPM modules (Strictly Required).

Risk & Compliance Domain Depth: Strong operational understanding of attestation, certification, compliance metrics, audit controls, scorecard tracking, and governance processes (Strictly Required).

Advanced Quality Assurance Tooling: Hands-on experience coordinating User Acceptance Testing (UAT) cycles, performing source-to-target data validation, and managing robust requirements traceability matrices (Strictly Required).

Platform Analytics & Reporting: Practical knowledge of platform workflows, Performance Analytics, custom reporting, and executive-level dashboards (Strictly Required).

Process Visualization Mastery: Superior capability designing workflows, process maps, and business architecture blueprints utilizing specialized diagramming tools.

Soft Skills: Outstanding consultative facilitation, analytical problem-solving, and communication mechanics, with an established history of managing diverse stakeholder expectations.
