Flexo Operator- Permanent

Our client, a leading global provider of paper-based packaging solutions, is seeking a skilled Flexo Operator to join their team.

As a Flexo Operator, you will play a crucial role in the daily operations of the printing press, ensuring the smooth and efficient production of high-quality packaging materials.

This includes make-ready, press performance, quality, maintenance, housekeeping and crew management.

Employment Type : Full Time, Permanent

Shift : Night Shift (36 hours per week) : (Must be flexible to work in other shifts if needed-with prior notice)

o Monday to Thursday - 10 : 30 PM to 7 : 30 AM

o Off on Fridays

Payrate : $33.43 / hr (to start) increase to $34.27 in september

Shift premium : $2.75 / hr

Location : Mississauga

Responsibilities

1. Maintain a clean and safe work environment and comply with all safety policies.

2. Conduct training on safety and operation of the press for new crew members.

3. Obtain and understand production docket according to print schedule.

4. Ensure all appropriate supplies are at the press ink, plates, stock, etc.

5. Mount plate sleeves, anilox rolls, die if applicable.

6. Make Ready of job - Establish proper color, die cut and register.

7. Check copy, item number and UPC for readability.

8. Run jobs to customer approval and or proof and or color standards.

9. Ensure all printed material meets customer specifications.

10. Input all costing information into Radius.

11. Comply to all SOP’s and Quality Procedures.

12. General Maintenance and housekeeping of department.

13. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Must have a Minimumof 3-5 yrs experience as a flexo operator

Must be able to maintain good attendance.

Must be willing to work overtime as needed; significant overtime may be required during busy periods.

Job Conditions and Environment :

Plant environment with exposure to dust, chemicals, fumes, and noise (hearing, eye and foot protectionrequired).

Standing and walking 100% of shift on a concrete floor.

Lifting 40 pounds.
