The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in quality management, deep expertise in ISO standards and continuous improvement methodologies, and a strategic mindset to drive the company's quality objectives forward while fostering a culture of excellence throughout the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and continuously strengthen ISO 9001 compliance and maturity toward world-class quality standards, ensuring that quality practices align with organizational growth and Mircom's mission to deliver best-in-class solutions
  • Own and continuously mature the Quality Management System (QMS) across all departments to ensure a consistent, rigorous, and holistic approach to quality assurance.
  • Integrate Six Sigma, Lean, and other continuous improvement methodologies to systematically reduce defects and enhance overall product quality.
  • Support process improvement and automation initiatives to reduce variabilities and enhance manufacturing processes, anchored to key performance indicators including Cost of Poor Quality, Scrap Rate, First Pass Yield, Return Material Authorization rate, and Customer Satisfaction scores.

Leadership

  • Lead and manage the quality team, providing expert guidance on quality tools and techniques, mentorship, support, and training to ensure high performance and professional development.
  • Prepare and present clear, data-driven quality reports to the President & CEO and senior management, highlighting key performance indicators, quality improvement initiatives, and recommendations.
  • Manage and strengthen cross-functional relationships with stakeholders across product management, product development, operations and sales; serve as the voice of quality at the senior leadership level.
  • Challenge the status quo, negotiate quality objectives, and communicate progress toward continuous improvement goals with transparency and confidence.
  • Establish a framework for resolving quality-related problems quickly and efficiently, ensuring that root causes are rigorously addressed and preventive actions are systematically implemented.
  • Use data analytics to monitor key quality metrics, identify trends, and drive evidence-based continuous improvement initiatives.

People Development

  • Mentor and support team members to foster a culture of quality, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Develop and deliver comprehensive training programs to enhance team skills and knowledge in quality management, defect data analysis, root cause and corrective action (RCCA), and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Invest in ongoing training programs for cross-functional staff to ensure adherence to quality standards and foster a sustained culture of continuous improvement.

Compliance

  • Ensure rigorous adherence to regulatory requirements and industry standards through comprehensive auditing processes, with a strong focus on ISO compliance.
  • Plan, execute, and oversee internal and external audits to assess compliance with quality standards and identify areas for improvement.
  • Develop and implement inspection and audit strategies to ensure comprehensive, systematic coverage of all manufacturing processes and quality management systems.
  • Address audit findings and implement structured corrective actions to resolve issues and prevent recurrence.
  • Implement robust risk management processes to identify and mitigate potential challenges in quality assurance, safety, and compliance efforts across the organization.

Continuous Improvement

  • Identify and execute continuous improvement, quality, and sustainability initiatives to enhance product quality and operational efficiency across all functions.
  • Analyze quality data and metrics to identify trends, root causes, and areas for improvement.
  • Implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to address quality concerns and prevent recurrence.
  • Collaborate with product development and engineering teams to integrate quality into the design and development process from concept through launch, and participate in design reviews to ensure new products meet regulatory, customer, and Mircom quality standards

Supplier and Customer Relations

  • Develop and maintain strategic relationships with customers and suppliers to ensure that products and services consistently meet and exceed expectations and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and manage supplier quality programs to ensure consistent material quality and component standards that support manufacturing excellence.
  • Ensure that customer quality concerns and feedback are addressed promptly and effectively.
  • Implement customer feedback loops to continually improve the quality of products and services.

Innovation and Technology Adoption

  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies relevant to the life safety and intelligent building systems industry, and evaluate their potential impact on quality management and product development.
  • Foster a culture of innovation by encouraging cross-functional collaboration between quality, product development, supply chain, manufacturing, field applications, and sales teams.

Requirements and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality Management, or a related field; advanced degree (MBA, M.Eng., or M.Sc.) strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of 10–15 years of experience in quality management within a manufacturing environment, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
