You'll work closely with development teams to ensure that technical solutions align with business goals and long-term strategy, driving innovation, consistency, and maintainability across CLBC's application landscape.This role blends hands-on architecture with team leadership, guiding best practices in coding, code review, technical standards, and performance optimization. You'll also play a critical role in modernizing legacy systems, reducing technical debt, and supporting high-impact business systems used across the province.Key responsibilities:Design and maintain enterprise application architecture that supports large-scale, multi-year systemsProvide expert technical leadership and mentorship to development teams, ensuring best practices are followedConduct code reviews and identify technical debt, leading initiatives to resolve it and improve code qualityCollaborate with solution teams to assess business needs and provide effective technical design and integration strategiesDevelop, test, and maintain both internally developed and packaged business systems and interfacesProvide Tier 3 support to resolve high-impact technical issues, acting as a subject matter expertEvaluate, recommend, and implement improvements to development standards, tools, and processesSupport the evolution of CLBC's systems through continuous research, planning, and solution designEnsure application solutions align with CLBC's architectural standards, project goals, and user needsWhat you'll bring:A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Management, or a related field and a minimum of 5 years of related experienceor a diploma in Information Technology with at least 10 years of related experienceor an equivalent combination of education and experienceProven experience in application architecture, systems analysis, software development, and production supportStrong background in the full software development lifecycle, Agile development, and change management practicesAdvanced knowledge of object-oriented design, SOA, and SOLID principlesExperience with technologies such as:C#, .NET, SQL (T-SQL/PL-SQL), PostgreSQL, Oracle DB, SSIS, Telerik, Salesforce, ServiceNow, Powershell, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, Git, TeamCity, Octopus Deploy, AWS, Active Directory, Visual Studio, IIS, and XMLAbility to balance strategic planning with hands-on implementationStrong analytical, organizational, and communication skillsExperience building collaborative relationships across business and IT teamsWe're also looking for:Expertise in designing, supporting, and modernizing complex enterprise systemsDemonstrated ability to lead and influence development teams to adopt best practices and technical standardsA commitment to innovation, continuous learning, and staying current with industry trends and technologiesExperience in the public sector or community-based services is an assetKnowledge of CLBC's core business systems and integration needs is an assetBenefits:A rewarding career at CLBC comes with great benefits including:Employer-paid extended health and dental planA BC Public Service Pension plan with employer contributionsGenerous vacation plus additional personal daysPaid maternity/parental/adoption leaveLife insurance, paid sick days, and, if needed, long-term disabilityWellness supports, including an Employee and Family Assistance ProgramProfessional development funds and resources to encourage continuous learning and skill developmentAccess to government discounts to travel, cell phones, and more!Additional Info:At CLBC, we are committed to providing equitable compensation, recognizing that salary negotiation can be a barrier for some groups.
