Essential Duties andResponsibilities :
LabourRelations :
- Managelabour relations in alignment with organizational strategies andmanufacturing goals including negotiation and administration ofcollective bargaining agreements.
- Act as themanagement representative with Union officials on matters relatedto disciplinary actions promotions demotions transfers separationslayoffs and wage adjustments.
- Negotiate andsettle grievances under established procedures and ensurecompliance with regulations such as the Labour Act WorkersCompensation and Employment Standards.
- Preparebriefs for arbitration and labour litigation cases administer workrules and employee discipline and manage employee lost time andabsenteeism.
- Maintain records prepare reportson labour activities and trends and conduct orientation and exitinterviews for unionizedemployees.
EnvironmentalHealth and Safety(EHS) :
- Maintain andcontinually improve the Environmental Health and Safety Programcoordinating ISO 14001 / OHSAS 18001 planning procedures workinstructions and audits.
- Perform environmentaland waste management control plan and implement actions to improveenvironmental standards and support emergency plans and responseteams.
- Identify training needs in cooperationwith HR present EHS reports in meetings and interface withmanagement engineering HR shop floor andcontractors.
- Investigate health and safetyincidents conduct safety signoffs on new and reworked equipment andcommunicate EHS program information.
- Report tomanagement on health and safety performance and provide requiredreports to meet legislative and companyrequirements.
Qualifications
Qualifications :
- Knowledgeableabout health and safety legislation in Ontario and environmentallegislation in Ontario and Canada.
- Workingknowledge of IATF16949 ISO14001 andISO45001.
- University graduate with a degree inBusiness Administration Labour Studies Health & SafetyEngineering or related college diploma.
- 35years experience in a HSE LR position
- Solidexperience with Compliance PolicyProcedures
- Union environment experience highlypreferred
- Knowledge of Manufacturing Processesplastics preferred with experience in a plant / manufacturingenvironment highly desired
- Ergonomics studiesor related experience an asset.
- Experience withISO OHSAS
