The Physician Assistant (PA), Emergency, provides a variety of clinical duties and responsibilities within the PA scope of practice as defined by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia (CPSBC). Responsibilities include obtaining patient histories, performing physical examinations, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, initiating treatments, and performing procedures in collaboration with and under the supervision of the on-shift emergency physician.

This role offers a uniquely rewarding opportunity to join a dynamic, collegial, and highly supportive emergency medicine team. Emergency Department physicians in Prince George are experienced clinicians with a strong commitment to teaching and ongoing professional development. UHNBC is committed to a collaborative, team-based model of emergency care that includes physicians, nurses, allied health professionals, Nurse Practitioners (NPs), and PAs. . Ongoing learning is supported through journal clubs, departmental meetings, and quality case reviews, fostering a collaborative environment where clinical excellence is shared and strengthened. We recognize the importance of a structured and supportive onboarding process-particularly for new graduates-and are committed to providing mentorship, guidance, and progressive responsibility to support a confident transition into independent practice.
