What You Will Get To Do

By effectively building positive rapport and relationships both internally and externally, the successful candidate will help us achieve our mission that together we deliver services that make a difference in our community.

Reporting to, and under the direction of, the Manager, Recreation Client Services, Summer Student will be responsible for supporting :

• Permit audits to ensure park spaces are being permitted appropriately and determine fields that may be under‑utilized.
• Park inventory audits, to ensure signage, and equipment conditions.
• Assisting with statistics, and researching best practices related to field, ice, and floor permitting.
• Site visit follow up on park permit complaints and issues, or to identify areas for improvement.
• Office administrative support for filling, record keeping, and customer service; and,
• other duties as may be assigned.

Who You Are

Our Recreation team is looking for a self‑motivated, solutions‑oriented, data driven team member. You convey your thoughts clearly and concisely. You listen attentively and ask questions for clarification and understanding. Using sound judgment, you demonstrate tact, diplomacy and sound discretion when working with the public.

You’re always happy to learn new things and to help build a working environment that encourages and cultivates new ideas. You foster a collaborative team environment among co‑workers, and work well both independently and as part of a team.

Students selected must be available to commence summer employment as early as April 27, 2026, and commit to working through to, and including, September 4, 2026.

Salary Range / Hourly Rate

$19.94 – $22.16
