Su mm ar y :
Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Senior Financial Analyst will be responsible for assisting with financial reporting, planning and budgeting processes, analyzing financial statements and project reports, developing financial models, preparing projections, and performing research and analysis as may be required by leadership.
As a Senior Financial Analyst, you will also be responsible for providing operations with financial guidance and assisting with monthly close processes.
To be successful as a Senior Financial Analyst, you should be able to perform under deadlines in a variety of financial activities including planning, analysis, budgeting, and reporting.
You should also have strong communication, analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills and be able to present financial information and models in a concise and easily comprehensible manner.
T he primary responsibilities and duties include; but are not limited to :
Supporting the month end internal reporting process
o Review of P&L, including Revenue, COS, GM and SG&A
o Analysis of monthly project reports and providing financial guidance to businesses
o Review accounting transactions for data accuracy
o Reconciliation of significant Balance Sheet Accounts
o Tracking KPIs and preparing financial reports to Private Equity ownership and quarterly Senior Lender requirements
o Understanding key business drivers
Supporting the monthly forecast process
o Working with business operations on P&L forecast
o Consolidation of forecast and analysis to be presented to Executive
- Supporting the annual budget processes
- Supporting annual audit, including working papers and reconciliations
- Special Projects
o Building financial models through benchmarking and process analysis
o Performing research and analysis including historical financial data
Internal Controls and Processes
o Ensuring compliance of financial guidelines, company policies, relevant legal regulations
o Establish financial policies
Other additional responsibilities and duties as assigned.
R e qu i re m e n t s / Qualifications :
A cademic Training :
- Bachelor’s or College degree in accounting, economics, finance, or related field.
- Relevant certification and training (e.g. CFA / CPA) is a plus
Work Experience :
- 3+ years of experience in financial planning, analysis, and modeling.
- Proven work experience as a Senior Financial Analyst, Financial Analyst or similar role
- Work experience and training in a Public Accounting firm preferred
- Work experience in a manufacturing environment an asset
Specific Competencies :
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft office (word, excel, forms, outlook, power point)
- Strong proficiency in use of Financial Systems - Enterprise Resource Planning systems (ERP)
- Current with Accounting policies and regulations
- Strong written and oral communication skills with interpersonal and presentation skills
- Excellent research, problem-solving, and time management skills.
