THE POSITION?
Due to the retirement of our long-serving middle school principal, we are seeking the next principal who will transition into the role in the spring of 2025 and begin fulltime in the fall of 2025.
The new principal will open our new 52,000 square foot middle school campus scheduled to open in the fall of 2026.
You will report directly to the Head of Schools and serve on the strategic leadership team of Langley Christian School - a community of 5 distinct campuses spread over 18 acres and home to more than 1300 students and 160+ staff and faculty.
You will lead a middle school that enrols 325+ students in grades 6-8 and a staff of approximately 30.
WHAT DO WE OFFER?
Competitive compensation, pension plan (8.05% defined benefit matching) and extended benefits package. Salary based on experience and qualifications : $132,000 - $142,000.
Annual discretionary professional development stipend and significant growth opportunities. School phone, laptop and any other technology relevant to the position are provided by LCS.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
5+ years of experience in a school administrative role.
Eligible for BC teaching certificate and evidence of exceptional classroom instructional skills in intermediate / middle years mathematics or literacy.
Master’s degree in education, instructional design or another field relevant to the position.
Evidence of strong understanding and record of leadership in inclusive education practices, and universal teaching practices.
Understanding of the BC independent schools funding and legislative context.
Evidence of strong interpersonal, technology, writing and communication skills.
Evidence of strong fiduciary, strategic planning, human resources management, administrative and organizational skills.
Able to speak to your experience leading an initiative that improved achievement at a previous school.
Evidence of significant commitment and service to a local Christian church community.
Strong understanding and ability to communicate a coherent vision for formative Christian education and discipleship of pre-teen-aged youth.
