TheOpportunity

Reporting directly to the Financial &Operations Manager the PracticumCoordinator will be responsible for facilitating thePlacement of graduating students from the institution into aPracticum or Internship with Employers in the respective fields ofthe student's new certification.

Based out of ourClient's office in SW CalgaryAB the Practicum Coordinator will be accountable forarranging 100 hour Practicums specifically in the areas of CyberSecurity and Cloud Engineering.

The ideal candidate will be an avidrelationship builder and natural networker eager to support thenext generation of talent hitting the marketplace in starting theircareers.

PLEASE NOTE : Thisposition will start at 30 hours per week and advance to full timeonce the successful candidate is fully onboarded likely within 12months maximum.

Required Experience andQualifications

  • 1 years of experience working as a PracticumCoordinator Practicum Administrator or other Career Servicesrelated roles
  • Previous experience working in Recruitment orHuman Resources is strongly preferred but notrequired
  • Comprehensive understanding of the ITIndustry is required
  • Established network in the IT sector isstrongly preferred specifically in the areas of Cyber Security andCloud Engineering
  • Exceptional People skills are a MUST.Actively seeking candidates who are strong relationship builderswith innate networking capability
  • Effective time management organizational andcustomer service skills
  • Selfmotivated with a proven ability to workindependently with minimal supervision
  • Complete fluency in the English language;both written and verbal
  • Proficiency in MS OfficeSuite
  • Proven abilityto ask the right questions and gather necessary information to finda mutually beneficial placement

Responsibilities of thePosition

STUDENTRELATIONS

  • Conduct intake meetings with studentsapproaching graduation to assess their specific areas of interestand career goals
  • Counsel students regularly on the status ofthe current job market sharing best practices for resume creationinterview preparation etc.
  • Provide consistent support and communicationto students throughout the interview process with prospectiveemployers
  • Facilitatestructured and timely follow up calls with students who have beensuccessfully matched for a Practicum Placement to understand theoverall "fit" from the student'sperspective and attain feedback

RECRUITMENT AND EMPLOYERRELATIONS

  • Attendvirtual and inperson networking events on behalf of the college topromote the institution and expand the network of prospectiveemployers
  • Establishrelationships with community groups industry forums and otherorganizations throughout Alberta to gather leads on prospectiveemployers
  • Regularreview of job boards to identify available job opportunities thatmay be suitable for graduates to apply for
  • Facilitate structured and timely follow upcalls with the hiring managers of employers who were successfullymatched for a Practicum Placement to understand the overall"fit" from the employer's perspective andattain feedback

ADMINISTRATIVE & OTHER DUTIES

  • Maintain accurate and uptodaterecords for all students including but not limited to : programdetails anticipated graduation date practicum placement employmentcontracts and other personal information
  • Conduct regular labor market analysis togather information on starting wages employment rates and availablejob opportunities in all areas of Alberta with registeredstudents
  • Buildinformation packages to promote theinstitution
  • Otheradministrative office support as needed including but not limitedto : answering phones electronic and manual filing calendarmanagement etc.
