Control System Developer – AtkinsRéalis

As a new member of the Pickering tooling team, you will work on a variety of refurbishment tools, supporting the design and modification of tooling systems.
Your role
- Responsible for timely execution of the assigned scope in the assigned software project capacities.
- Perform suitability assessment (and qualifications where needed) of system hardware and pre‑developed software components.
- Design, install and test an assigned product test environment.
- Provide site support and software maintenance services.
- Implement and maintain the development environment – hardware, software, tool installation, backup and disaster recovery.
- Implement and maintain key project support systems (configuration management, document management and change control systems) for the tooling department.
- Support the selection and qualification of Control Systems hardware by the tooling group.
- Assist in preparing validation tests and / or reviewing the results of the validation testing.
- Manage change control – use the configuration management system to maintain software files, releases and documentation; prepare and maintain work plans for control software change activities.
- Conduct OPEX review – assemble OPEX and assess changes for future tooling and equipment designs.
- Uphold the technical quality of the assigned scope.
- Report and suggest resolution to any potential impacts to technical quality identified by tool manufacturers and vendors.
- Lead assigned software project planning and scheduling activities.
- Prepare and deliver presentations on software development and maintenance to clients, as required.
- Ensure all work activities are performed safely, in collaboration with the Project Safety Manager.
- Identify potential work scopes and opportunities for growth.
Qualifications
Post‑secondary university technical degree and / or equivalent work experience.Engineering drawings interpretation.Experience programming Siemens PLC – Step 7, S7‑SCL, S7‑GRAPH, S7‑Starter, SIMATIC NET, WinCC Flexible, and S7 Distributed Safety.Experience programming Siemens SCADA – WinCC Classic.Knowledge of Siemens PROFIBUS and PROFITNET.Experience with PELCO (Endura Certified System Technician an asset).Knowledge of Nuclear Quality Assurance program.Knowledge of Engineering Change Control program.Analytical ability and effective decision‑making.Organizational skills.Situational awareness and effective problem‑solving skills.Inter‑personal communication skills.Benefits & Development
