Control System Developer – AtkinsRéalis

As a new member of the Pickering tooling team, you will work on a variety of refurbishment tools, supporting the design and modification of tooling systems.

Your role

• Responsible for timely execution of the assigned scope in the assigned software project capacities.
• Perform suitability assessment (and qualifications where needed) of system hardware and pre‑developed software components.
• Design, install and test an assigned product test environment.
• Provide site support and software maintenance services.
• Implement and maintain the development environment – hardware, software, tool installation, backup and disaster recovery.
• Implement and maintain key project support systems (configuration management, document management and change control systems) for the tooling department.
• Support the selection and qualification of Control Systems hardware by the tooling group.
• Assist in preparing validation tests and / or reviewing the results of the validation testing.
• Manage change control – use the configuration management system to maintain software files, releases and documentation; prepare and maintain work plans for control software change activities.
• Conduct OPEX review – assemble OPEX and assess changes for future tooling and equipment designs.
• Uphold the technical quality of the assigned scope.
• Report and suggest resolution to any potential impacts to technical quality identified by tool manufacturers and vendors.
• Lead assigned software project planning and scheduling activities.
• Prepare and deliver presentations on software development and maintenance to clients, as required.
• Ensure all work activities are performed safely, in collaboration with the Project Safety Manager.
• Identify potential work scopes and opportunities for growth.
