Electrician and Estimator

Your Role :
As the Journeyperson / Journeyman Electrician and Estimator, you will ensure accurate contractor quoting and efficient installation of EV charging stations, upholding our dedication to service excellence.
This role also includes providing detailed labour and parts estimates for EV charger installations and collaborating closely with the Sales and Operations teams to streamline installation processes.
Working within the newly established Services team, and reporting to the Head of Hardware Operations, this role is crucial for offering solutions in the electrical installation segment of our business.
You will also play a key role in enhancing our service offerings by leveraging your expertise to improve installation efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
Key skills that will enable success in this role include expertise in electrical installation and estimation; ability to work independently as the first in-house electrician;
strong collaboration skills to work effectively across teams; and proficiency in maintaining high standards under tight deadlines.
Key Responsibilities :
- Estimating : Conduct site reviews and provide detailed labour and materials estimates.
- Electrical Installations : Perform EV charger installations for new build and retrofit sites. Includes running conduit and cables, installing distribution panels and junction boxes, and mounting / connecting chargers.
- Installation Coordination : Collaborate with external contractors or civil contractors, as needed.
- Logistics Management : Organize and itemize materials needed to ensure projects are completed on schedule.
- Field Maintenance : Perform local maintenance and field service on operational chargers to ensure reliability.
- Reporting : Regularly update management on the status of projects / installations and report on actual costs once the work is completed.
Required Qualifications :
- Red Seal qualification in Electrical.
- Minimum of 10 years electrical experience.
- Minimum of 2 years of estimating experience.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Must possess a full (non-restricted) driver's license.
Bonus Qualifications :
- Automotive / EV industry experience or interest.
- Network equipment installation and operation experience.
- Field Safety Representative certificate.
Compensation :
- Annual salary range : $75,000 - $100,000 CAD.
