Robert Half is in need of an ambitious and articulate Collections Specialist to assume a role with an organization in the Utilities / Infrastructure industry. This Collections Specialist position in the Ajax, Ontario region is a long-term contract / temporary opportunity. What you get to do every single day

  • Oversee and update customer files to ensure data accuracy
  • Yield to all Federal Fair Credit Reporting Act rules and regulations
  • Handle inbound and outbound collections calls and correspondence
  • Act as a company representative in upholding quality customer service and a positive company image by resolving customer account inquiries
  • Ensure bankruptcy filings are processed in the correct manner when received
  • Administer all billing and reporting activities in response to deadlines
  • Register all customer payments to the correct reports
  • Pinpoint delinquent customer accounts through various means, e.g. written correspondence, phone contact, skip-tracing, and making arrangements for payment
  • Guarantee the processing of payments

Job Requirements :

  • Expertise in Microsoft Excel
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Solid understanding of consumer collections
  • Prior experience using accounting software
  • AA or BS / BA in Accounting preferred
  • 2+ years of prior high volume collections experience
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing effectively throughout all levels of the company
  • Ability to analyze customer accounts and make decisions based on those analyses
